What languages are supported?
Languages you can speak in
Letterly recognises speech in most major languages, and you do not need to choose one before you record — it detects the language on its own.
If it gets the language wrong, set it manually. This is the speaker's language.
For one note: open the note, tap or click ⋯, choose Speaker's language, and pick the language. Letterly transcribes the recording again.
For future notes: open Settings → Speaker's language. This does not change notes you already have.
Set the speaker's language when you have an accent, or when you switch between languages inside one recording — accuracy improves noticeably.

The speaker's language is about what Letterly hears. Translation is a separate feature that converts a finished note into another language, and the original stays untouched.

The Letterly interface is available in English, Spanish, Italian, German, French, Portuguese, Japanese, Dutch, Russian and Thai.
Letterly follows your device: change the system language on your phone or computer, and the app switches to it automatically. You can also set it yourself in Settings → Interface language.
The interface language does not affect transcription. You can use Letterly in English and dictate in Japanese.
