What is the Meeting mode?
Use Meeting mode to record a conversation or a talk — a meeting, a lecture, an interview. Letterly records through the microphone and turns the recording into a full transcript you can search, rewrite, and share.
How it works
- Open Letterly and tap the record button.
- Turn on Multi-speaker so the transcript is split by who said what.
- Place your device where it can hear everyone, and start the conversation.
- Tap or click Stop. Letterly transcribes the recording and creates a note.
- Tap or click Rewrite and choose a summary option to get a short recap of the key points.
One recording can be up to 90 minutes long on Pro, and up to 3 minutes on the Free plan. If the meeting runs longer, use Record more to continue in the same note.
Tell the other participants that you are recording and wait for their consent.
You can still do it afterwards. Open the note, tap or click ⋯, and choose Add speaker roles — Letterly goes through the recording again and splits it by speaker.
What you get
| Result | What it is |
|---|---|
| Transcript | Everything that was said, as text |
| Speakers | The transcript split by speaker |
| Summary | A short recap of the key points, from any summary rewrite option |
| Audio | The original recording, saved in the note |
What people use it for
- Team meetings and 1:1s
- Lectures, classes, and talks
- Interviews and research calls
- Long conversations you want to keep, not retype
Letterly records through the microphone, so it does not capture call audio directly. See Can I record a Zoom or Google Meet call? and Can I record a phone call?
