Action button
Works on: iPhone
The Action button on the side of your iPhone can start Letterly with one press — no unlocking, no searching for the app. You set it up once, using a Letterly shortcut.
Choose what the button does

Set it up
- In Letterly, open Settings → Dictation → Action button.
- Tap Add Shortcut and confirm adding it in the Shortcuts app.
- Open Settings → Action Button on your iPhone.
- Swipe to Shortcut.
- Select the Letterly shortcut you added.
Use it
Press and hold the Action button. Letterly starts recording straight away — the phone does not need to be unlocked.

Shortcuts require iOS 26 or newer. On earlier versions, assign the Action button to open Letterly instead.
