What is the Letterly widget?

The Letterly widget is a small shortcut you place on your screen to start a new recording with one tap. On iPhone it works on the Home Screen and the Lock Screen.

Before you start

  • The Letterly app is installed on your device.
  • Your iOS version supports widgets.

Do not see Letterly in the widget list? Make sure the app is updated to the latest version, and that you have opened it and logged in at least once.

Add the widget to your Home Screen

  1. Touch and hold an empty area on your Home Screen until the icons start to jiggle.
  2. Tap Edit in the top-left corner, then tap Add Widget.
  3. Search for Letterly in the widget gallery.
  4. Tap Add Widget, then drag it where you want.
  5. Tap Done to save your layout.

Add the widget to your Lock Screen

  1. Go to your Lock Screen and touch and hold it until Customize appears.
  2. Tap Customize and choose your Lock Screen.
  3. Scroll or search for Letterly in the list.
  4. Tap the Letterly widget to add it.
  5. Tap Done to save your Lock Screen.

Start a recording from the widget

  1. Tap the Letterly widget.
  2. Letterly opens directly to a new recording, so you can start speaking right away.
  3. Tap Stop when you are done.
  4. Letterly processes the note, and the transcript and rewrites appear in the app.
